This course inspires and encourages you to become an effective and safe
professional Yoga teacher by deepening and enhancing your awareness,
understanding, knowledge and experience of Yoga, asana and pranayama.

Introduction to History and Philosophy of Yoga:
The Vedas
Upanishads
Bhagavad Gita
The different paths of Yoga
Some 'modern' styles of Yoga.
Anatomy and Physiology in relation to teaching and practicing Yoga.
In-depth study of 40 asanas, including:
safety, contraindications and alignment
anatomical and therapeutic focus
benefits
variations
moving into, holding and
moving out of the asana
verbal and hands on adjustments
preparatory and counter postures
beginners tips
working deeper into the posture
partnering if appropriate
In-depth study of Breath and Pranayama.
Introduction to Yoga Nidra, Kriya, Bandhas, Mudras, meditation and visualisation.
Introduction to massage used with yoga.
Taking Yoga off the mat and out of the classroom
Teaching skills and ethics.

The cost of the course is £1800.
This includes:

Accommodation on the Saturday night in Aberfoyle
